SECURING YOUR BOAT RENTAL
SATURDAYS & SUNDAYS: A non-refundable deposit of $25 per boat / per day rented is due at the time of booking, along with a valid Visa, MasterCard or Discover Card to hold your reservation.
WEEKDAYS (other than Memorial Day Monday): A reservation for canoes is not required as canoes are plentiful. If you are needing a large number of canoes for a weekday, we do appreciate advance notice so that we may be prepared accordingly with trailers at the river. Regarding kayaks and rafts, these are limited in number and the $25 non-refundable deposit per boat / per day rented applies on weekdays.
FINAL PAYMENT
The balance of your account is due at the time you complete your National Park Service contract in our office prior to launch.
CANCELLATION
A cancellation received 21 or more days out from date of launch is released from final payment responsibility. The initial deposit, however, is forfeited. For a cancellation received less than 21 days out from date of arrival, the credit card holding the reservation will be charged for the full amount due.
Our window of time for canoe season is very short and we turn away scores of people for Saturday and Memorial Day weekend canoes, so we have to observe a very tight policy for weekend cancellations. Exceptions: You will also not be charged if the National Park Service has closed the river due to flooding or if we are suggesting that the level is for experienced paddlers only.
A cancellation must be made by phone, rather than email as the latter can be unreliable due to spam filters. Please call us at 1-800-221-5514 to cancel a reservation.
If a boat rental deposit or full payment has been made and we have determined that the upper Buffalo River is too low to float from the Pruitt access, you will be fully refunded the amount charged to your credit card. We try to make you aware of unfloatable river conditions in advance of your arrival, but it is always wise to call us prior to that date or check our Current Buffalo River Level Report for an update. We don't like to disappoint folks and, therefore, put boats on as long as possible, but we also want you to have an unenjoyable experience, so thank you for understanding should we have to notify you of these conditions.
Please note that you will complete an Acknowledgement of Risk / Boat Rental Agreement in our office prior to launch. You may review that information online now at this link: http://www.buffaloriver.com/uploads/boc_float_service_contract.pdf
