Lost Valley Trail Closed for Major Improvements

| Category: Buffalo River Hiking

Lost Valley Eden Falls

Who doesn't love the Lost Valley Trail?  With the trail seeing nearly 77,000 hikers last year, all that park visitor love is why the National Park Service is undertaking a major improvement project this winter---improvements that should greatly enhance your enjoyment of the trail for years to come.  The trail closure goes into effect Monday, December 10, 2018 and is expected to continue into late February 2019.

Lost Valley is one of Arkansas's most beloved hiking trails, so the parking area can be quite congested in the spring and fall.  Fortunately, the improvement plan calls for an enlarged parking area, as well as other important changes such as the construction of a footbridge over Clark Creek, the creation of a better wheelchair-accessible section of trail and a re-routing of the access road so it is less susceptible to damage when the creek floods.
