Buffalo Outdoor Center is open and ready to welcome you to Ponca! Thank you for assisting us in our effort to provide a safe adventure and lodging experience for all guests---as well as protect our invaluable staff---by adhering to the following protocols and guidelines:
BOC COVID-19 PROTOCOLS & GUIDELINES - Updated April 7, 2021
BOC Store: Mask are strongly encouraged although not required to be worn UNLESS:
- You find you are unable to social distance from other guests.
- You are experiencing a seasonal allergy flare up or have a cold.
- You have not been vaccinated.
Health Safety FIRST: If you or a member of your travel party have any COVID-19 symptoms or have been exposed to someone with one or more of the symptoms, PLEASE STAY HOME. The Buffalo National River will be here for your enjoyment when it is safe for you to travel and be around others!
BOC ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES
Scheduled Launch Times for Float Trips: We require a pre-reserved launch time to be set up prior to your arrival. This helps all guests, outfitters and NPS staff to practice social distancing while on the gravel bar. We will schedule your launch time when you call to reserve your boats. Or, you may choose your time slot when reserving your canoe(s) or kayak(s) online.
BOC Zipline: We continue to require zipline guests to wear masks as platforms do not allow for social distancing.
Ponca Downhill MTB: Our shuttle service for the mountain bike trail system is available with added health-safety precautions in place. For example, we will be limiting the number of riders permitted in the shuttle vehicle at any given time and all riders must wear a mask while while in the shuttle vehicle. Love to hike? Hiking is also permitted on the Ponca Downhill MTB system!
LODGING & RV GUESTS
Our awesome housekeeping staff continues to take extra time to prepare your cabin or lodge for arrival, as well as our bathhouse for RV guests. Thank you for observing the following guidelines so they may provide you with an exemplary experience, guidelines which also helps protect them as they clean your cabin upon departure:
Check-in / Check-Out: Check-in is 4:00 PM or after and check-out is by 10:00 AM, so our staff may have adequate time to practice cleaning protocols based on Center for Disease Control guidelines.
Upon Check-Out: All bath, kitchen and bed linens must be bagged by guests prior to departure, even bed quilts. You will find extra trash bags in your cabin for this purpose.
Illness During Your Stay: If you or a member of your travel party become ill with one or more COVID-19 symptoms during your stay, please contact us immediately at 870-861-5514 during business hours (8-5, Nov - Feb / 8-6, Mar-Oct).
