2024 Eclipse
On April 8th, 2024, a total solar eclipse, known as the "Great North American Eclipse," will pass right over Buffalo River Country! People will be traveling from around the nation to experience this event at America's First National River.

WHAT TO EXPECT?
Watching the total solar eclipse in Buffalo River Country will be an experience of a lifetime. The area is expecting thousands of visitors from across the country, so plan ahead for reservations. Expect to encounter congested roadways and trails. Parking may be hard to find in Ponca and in popular scenic areas. Booking a cabin or RV site can secure both a parking spot and a great location to watch the eclipse occur.
WHERE SHOULD I WATCH THE ECLIPSE?
There are so many incredible locations to watch the eclipse in the area. You could watch the event from your favorite trail, while floating the Buffalo River, or from your own private cabin. We are even offering a special Buffalo River Canopy Tour during the eclipse, so you can watch from high above Buffalo River Country on Tower #1 (this experience is limited to 10 people, so book while you can).
