Cabin Cooking Series: Perfect Winter Chili Recipe | Buffalo Outdoor Center

Women's hands holding a bowl of chili

Happy wintertime from Ponca!  The winter beauty of the upper Buffalo National River is something not to be missed—as is this recipe for chili that’s soooooooo good, your friends and family will be asking for it throughout the year!

This chili’s flavor nicely splits the difference between too mild and too wild, so it’s a perfect chlli to serve to a mixed group.  Those who want it more wild can add Tobasco sauce, jalapenos, or even srirachua.  Your “Cabin Cooking” host Rhonda Mills has been making this chili since the early 80’s and has yet to find anyone who didn’t ask for more!

In this episode, we’re cooking in the kitchen of the beautiful Windridge Cabin.  Located on our mountain top overlooking 30 miles of upper Buffalo River wilderness, this cabin is the perfect hangout for a group of up to 8 guests.  Join us in the video below for a quick cabin tour and the recipe how-to, including cooking tips that make any chili you prepare even better!
